On a lovely sunny Winter day, with Spring poking it’s head right around the corner, we held our second Mega Craft Day in the communal area of Dickson College on Saturday August 31st.

Mega Craft Day Canberra

What an amazing day!

We had a line up of people to come in at 11am, which could have had something to do with the lure of the AMAZING goodie bags for the first 50 people through the doors. They were all gone by 11.07am!

The fantastic variety of workshops on offer was brilliant, from water colour painting to glass etching to studio photography to paper crafts, and of course don’t forget the kids art and craft!

Setting up for a day of face painting and balloon modelling with Crazy Kids Entertainment

The day was so busy and I was completely run off my feet that I unfortunately didn’t get a lot of photos. If you did, please send them to me so I can share them! email info@canberracreatives.com.au

We also had the wonderful Sayerah from Stampin’ Up! treat people with card making workshops, Anna from Coffee Loco supplying much needed refreshments, the ever-lovely Amarylise demonstrating great things from Kazazz, and a group of fantastic women from Canberra Quilters demonstrating quilting techniques.

Our next big event like this will be in 2014, and we will be trying to expand to include many other areas of creativity as well as craft (and some improvements in accessibility for wheelchairs and prams!), so we hope to see you at the 2014 MEGA CRAFT AND MAKERS DAY next year!

Did you come along to the August Mega Craft day? Please let us know your favourite part of the day in the comments below!
